Wittstock versus Moss-stock

Monaco vied to become the world’s most glamorous country as fashion’s biggest names flocked to Prince Albert and Princess Charlene’s wedding yesterday. From budding environmentally-friendly fashion campaigner Charlotte Casiraghi to supermodels Naomi Campbell and Karolina Kurkova (not to mention the legendary Karl Lagerfield) the array of guests descending on the diminutive principality certainly gave Moss and Hince a run for their money.

In fact the overlapping guest lists for the two biggest fashion weddings of the year meant that Moss had to move her wedding date from the Saturday to the Friday in an effort to avoid any poaching of wedding attendees.

Monaco’s new princess wore a Giorgio Armani Privé bridal gown consisting of an impressive 88 yards of cream silk duchesse adorned with 40,000 Swarovski crystals. The ex-Olympic swimmer pulled off the classic look with effortless grace; as Armani told Vogue earlier this year: ‘Tall, sporty and at the same time sophisticated, Charlene knows how to wear even the grandest evening dresses with the nonchalance and freshness of youth’.
