Tod's Sella bag 2013 Christmas limited edition with fur
One of Tod’s most iconic handbags, the Sella, will be getting a limited edition makeover for this 2013 Christmas season.
The ‘new’ Sella bag that was released earlier this year and take its inspiration from a dressage saddle and the original ad campaign was shot by contemporary artist-photographer David LaChapelle.
"This idea came about because looking at the history of the company and its craftsmanship, it just suggested the world of saddlery,” said LaChapelle.
Designed to be sophisticated and feminine, the Sella bag combines equestrian details with impeccable taste and has all the refined, understated luxury, plus the quality and craftsmanship of ‘Made in Italy’.
With its slightly curved shape, refined metal details, double handles, and a removable shoulder strap, the Sella bag is an luxurious addition to every woman’s wardrobe.
Usually produced using materials that include calfskin, ponyskin, crocodile and python, the handbag comes in a variety of colors, such as red, burgundy, brown tan, rust, purple, yellow, as well as striking animal prints such as zebra and leopard.
However just for the 2013 holiday season the Italian luxury goods label has decided to dress their exquisite couture ‘it bag’ with fur.
This new limited edition collection that features expensive fur is available in three stunning shades: a delicate cream color that will make you look and feel like a Russian tsaritsa (czarina), a stunning and subtle mix of cream and brown, and a classic midnight blue for those of you who are bored with usual, but time-honored black bags.
The fur ranges from luxurious and soft mink to Orylag chinchilla, while the metal details, welts and tubular stitches still references horse bridles and brass rings of the basic Sella bag and the handles and sides of the bag are still featured in soft calfskin, as is the Tod’s logo.
