Tinie career change
If you’ve ever seen The Devil Wears Prada, you’ll know only too well how tough an assistant’s life can be. All those trips to Starbucks, the late nights pandering to designer egos and those constant trips to Paris. Who, we ask you, could ever be brave enough to sign up for such hardship? Tinie Tempah, that’s who.
The Brit rapper has said that he’d like to be an intern on a fashion magazine, because he thinks it will help him refine his (already pretty snappy) style. According to Contact Music Tinie hopes that working for free on a highly-regarded publication will teach him the all-important rules of fashion. He says: ‘I do all my own styling. I pack and unpack, but it's not very organised. So many times on the red carpet you see performers asked who their jacket is by and they have to check their label. That's not cool.’
Just in case the HR department at Condé Nast didn’t take the hint, Tinie states his intentions in no uncertain terms: ‘I'd like a week's work experience at Vogue. I'm serious’. It seems Tinie isn’t alone in his aspirations - fellow rapper Kanye West was apparently writing to Louis Vuitton for an internship, in order to boost his experience in fashion design. He said ‘I'm going to go and take an internship and just do something that's like completely normal, and just rap at the weekends or something’.
Most people might send a CV and cross their fingers, but things are very different in celeb-land.
