The highlands are so haute right now
Officially voted the sexiest man of the 20th century and probably Scotland’s most famous export after haggis, Sean Connery will play host to the cream of New York society next month at the annual Glenlivet Dressed to Kilt fashion gala.
According to the Telegraph, the gala showcases all aspects of Caledonian culture, and will feature a catwalk show from some of fashion’s biggest names. Labels that will feature include Alexander McQueen, Vivienne Westwood, House of Holland, Katherine Hooker, and Locharron of Scotland plus US labels Montana, Dreamwear, Pat Dahnke, IOTA and Prophetik. Sir and Lady Connery’s granddaughter Saskia will make her debut on the catwalk, modelling the Highland’s finest haute couture.
The event is the largest Scottish fashion event in the world (outside Scotland). Sir Sean will act as honorary chairman at the gala, with his wife, but it’s not known if he himself will wear a kilt. Dressed to Kilt takes place on Tuesday, April 5th, at the Hammerstein Ballroom, New York City.
