The Fashion Blues
Samantha Cameron will take a significant role at future fashion weeks according to the Guardian. The British Fashion Council has announced plans to work with the prime minister’s wife on future fashion weeks, starting next season, although talks are still underway to define the exact nature of the role.
SamCam has established a solid reputation as a fashion-forward first lady, regularly seen wearing outfits by some of the UK’s leading designers. She is a particular fan of Royal College graduate and winner of the Vogue Designer Fund, Erdem - going so far as to collaborate with him on a range of notebooks for Smythson, the company for which she works as a consultant.
Erdem’s spring/summer 2011 show, presented today in London, was described by Vogue.com as ‘a lyrical, romantic breath of fresh fashion air’ and sure enough, Miss Cameron had a covetable front-row seat. Who knows precisely what her future role will play at London Fashion Week, but we’re pretty sure we know what she’ll be wearing.
