Step into Chery's shoes
We were wondering what Cheryl Cole’s been up to recently. Not one to laze around, we assumed she would be beavering away on some new project since her US X Factor career stalled. Maybe a new single? Or TV show? Well perhaps, but for now she has really thrown a curve ball by designing her first shoe collection.
Created in association with Stylistpick, the collection has been overseen by Cole at every stage, meaning the concept, design and packaging will all have Cole’s perfectionist stamp. According to Vogue the collection will be accessibly priced and is due to launch in December at www.stylistpick.com
Chief creative officer of Stylistpick, Juliet Warkentin, said: ‘Cheryl is the style icon and is amazingly warm, a quality that has made her the nation's favourite. We believe that the launch will have a huge fashion impact; establishing fashion's greatest influencer as a major force in fashion design and further democratising fashion.’
While Cheryl’s position as an X Factor judge may have proved shaky, her credentials as a style icon have never been questioned. She’s appeared on the covers of British Vogue and Elle, as well as being the face of L’Oreal. And while she may have been pipped to the post of Highstreet Queen by Kate Middleton this week, it’s clear Cheryl is still the nation’s queen of hearts, as she flew out to Afghanistan earlier in the week to perform for the troops. Perhaps next she will turn her attention to adding some fashion flair to their uniforms?
