Actress and style icon Sarah Jessica Parker, best known and loved for her role as Carrie Bradshaw in Sex and the City, has finally accomplished a long kept dream: designing her own line of exclusive and gorgeous shoes.
The highly anticipate collection, simply called SJP, will debut at selected Nordstrom shops across the States and at Nordstrom.com on February 28.
The launch will be accompanied by a mini-tour that will bring Parker in many American cities to meet her fans and present her collection of Italian-made shoes and other wardrobe must-haves she designed herself.
In the meantime, and for those of us on the other side of the Atlantic, Glamour has released the first pictures of some awesome footwear that is clearly inspired to Carrie's style.
According to actress-turned-designer Parker herself, in fact, the beloved protagonist of Sex and the City was 'an inspiring muse' and working on the TV series, she revealed, contributed to passion for shoes: “I’m privileged that I played her (Carrie Bradshaw),” she told Glamour, “I was exposed to so many beautiful shoes and to how they’re made. That role really cemented my love.”
But it is not only the look that matters: Parker claimed that, while she dreamt of designing her own line of shoes, she was also waiting for the right occasion: “I’ve been thinking of doing this for years but never found the right fit,” she said. “Everything needed to align, from quality to price point.”
From canvas flats to classic red silhouette pumps and laced-up high healed boots, all the SJP shoes have the same quirky but very feminine style we are used to associate to the actress herself and the whole of SATC fashion attitude.
A part from the Italian-made quality, SJP shoes have something else in common: versatility. Wear them at work, on a shopping free with your best friends or on a romantic date, in a true SATC style.
Prices range from $185 to $485, or from £110 to just under £300.
