Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, David Gandy and Helena Bonham-Carter star in M&S Christmas commercial
Marks & Spencer has literally outdone themselves with this year’s 2013 Christmas commercial that stars Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, David Gandy and Helena Bonham-Carter.
The whimsical fantasy commercial was created by London agency Rainey Kelly Campbell Roalfe/Y&R, and directed by Johan Renck.
This Christmas M&S was strongly inspired by fairytales: Alice in Wonderland ,The Wizard of Oz, Aladdin and Red Riding Hood and the promotional tag line is: "Believe in Magic & Sparkle,"and described by the brand as a "modern epic where fashion meets fantasy.’
Rosie Huntington-Whiteley plays a convincing ‘Alice’ as she stumbles down a manhole after chasing a cute little white dog and then finds herself in an enchanted forest and at a Tea Party hosted by a very hot looking Mad Hatter played by David Gandy, while the bewitching Helena Bonham Carter plays a style-savvy Wizard of Oz.
During the two-minute commercial, the 26-year old top model shows off her lingerie Rosie for Autograph collection before playing Little Red Riding Hood, and she is naturally wearing a red wool coat before being taken on a magic carpet ride by Gandy, who takes on the role of Aladdin.
The garments used in the commercial are all available on Marks and Spencer website and have been called like the fairy tales.
In the 22-piece Christmas collection you can find two red coats: an Autograph wool bouclé , and a double breasted funnel neck style that were inspired by Little Red Riding Hood tale.
There’s also a black coat with a faux fur collar called Fairy Godmother and a Queen of Hearts dress that is the Per Una Speziale lace shift and a M&S Collection floral lace maxi dress that they have decided to dub Tea Party Glamour.
David Gandy’s Mad Hatter and Scarecrow looks in the commercial are represented in the collection by the Autograph pure cotton 2 button velvet jacket while the other is a pure wool 2 button Herringbone jacket.
