Rita Ora: The new face for Material Girl ad campaign

Material Girl, the fashion brand for teens designed by the famous mother-daughter duo,Madonna and Lourdes Leon has released the first ad images of Rita Ora as the face of this Fall’s 2013 marketing campaign dubbed “Material Girl Hits London.”

The 22-year old blonde British singer who performed for the first time on the legendary Glastonbury Festival stage last month with her song R.I.P., now follows in the footsteps of Kelly Osbourne, Taylor Momsen and Georgia May Jagger, who have previously modeled for the US fashion label.

Madonna and Lourdes previously said that they decided to choose the singer to front the new campaign because, “Rita is a talented beauty but what really drew us to her is the confidence she oozes through her music and her unique sense of style. On stage or off, in photos or in the street – she’s a magnet! This is what the Material Girl brand is all about.”

To be handpicked by Madonna and her incredibly cool daughter Lola is the largest of all compliments,” said Rita of her new role.

The ad campaign was shot around some of London's most iconic landmarks including Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, Piccadilly Circus and the London Eye, and on top of a double decker as Ora posed with Material Girl's newest collection of apparel, footwear, and accessories.

Speaking of the photoshoot, Ora said, "This has been an amazing Material Girl tour around my hometown, London, taking loads of pictures, dressing up and having fun.

"Material Girl is so good because it's easy to get a hold of—at Macy's—and it's affordable which I love," said Ora of her new collaboration with Material Girl.


"And what Material Girl means is just so much more than just a girl. It means fashion. It means confidence. It means belief and inspiration and freedom to really express yourself. Material Girl as a brand is that I don't really think it follows trends. We make trends."

Material Girl models are sold exclusively in Macy's stores in the US and on Macys.com.
