Rihanna is the new face for Balmain's Spring/Summer 2014 ad campaign
Rihanna is the brand new face of Balmain’s 2014 Spring/Summer ad campaign.
The new ad campaign was shot by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin in New York, with creative direction from Atelier Franck Durand and styling by Mel Ottenberg, who just happens to also be RiRi’s personal stylist.
The singer who just shot to number one on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart in her collaboration with Eminem on the hit single ‘The Monster,” is known to be a big Balmain fashion fan and tapping the Barbadian’s beauty and unique style seems to be a very logical choice for the luxury French label for their upcoming advertising campaign that will be released in January.
Giving Rihanna big kudos was creative director and designer Oliver Rousteing who said. “In front of the camera, she makes you feel like she is the only girl in the world. When the woman that inspires you wears your creations, your vision feels complete.”
This isn’t the first time that singer has done some modeling work. She obviously did the campaign work for her Rihanna for River Island collections and also the photoshoots for her range of makeup and fragrance lines and also modelled for Armani.
The first two pictures that were released - one on Balmain’s Facebook page and the other on Twitter - to hype up the new campaign sees Rihanna in a startling swimming pool monochrome background.
The first features RiRi wearing a baby pink and white check printed kimono styled coat with turned up white cuffs, and caught at the waist with a three chain gold and white belt and topped off with a stunning pair of lace booties with gold heels and toe caps.
In the other, the tousled haired singer is in sultry pose and featured wearing a fabulous off-the-shoulder blue denim sweater/blouse with abundant gold chain detailing and the top is paired with high-waisted denim trousers.
