Meat an official fashion icon
Her choice of outfits may not be to everybody's taste (or budget), but Lady Gaga is, officially, a fashion icon - according to the Council of Fashion Designers of America, who recently announced the Gagarella as the recipient of its Fashion Icon Award.
The CFDA praised Gaga for 'for being a fashion revolutionary impacting style today'. Whether that means they're expecting teenage girls across the world to start wrapping themselves in raw sirloin steak, or just for generally injecting some fun into fashion, is unclear.
Other names to be honoured by the CFDA include Marc Jacobs, who will claim the Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Achievement Award, and The Telegraph's Hilary Alexander, who will receive a CFDA Board of Directors Special Tribute when the ceremony takes place at New York's Lincoln Center on June 6.
