Marks & Spencer's 2013-2014 Leading Ladies Ad Campaign

Marks & Spencer, Britain’s largest clothing retailer, will be trying to boost declining sales with their new 2013-2014 Fall and Winter collection with a brand new ad campaign dubbed, 'Britain’s Leading Ladies'.

The 2013-2014 campaign was photographed by the internationally renowned Annie Leibovitz and features twelve high profile women considered at the top of their fields to showcase M&S's new collection, which focuses on higher quality and more fashionable styles.

M&S has gotten Oscar-winning actress Helen Mirren, and fashion heavy US Vogue's Grace Coddington, but there is also boxer Nicola Adams, who won a gold medal at the 2012 London Olympics, Ellie Goulding, singer-songwriter and BRIT award winner who performed at the wedding of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge to pose for them.

And the line-up of Britain’s ‘leading ladies’ doesn’t stop there.

There’s award-winning author Monica Ali, former Royal Ballet ballerina Darcey Bussell, singer Laura Mvula, Katie Piper, who survived an acid attack in 2008, and is now successful TV presenter, and charity campaigner, Helen Allen, Nurse of the Year in 2011, Jasmine Whitbread, CEO of Save the Children, and controversial artist Tracey Emin, model and musician Karen Elson.

'We wanted this campaign to signal a new and confident tone of voice to introduce Autumn,' said Patrick Bousquet-Chavanne, Executive Director Marketing and Business Development at M&S.

'Annie was the perfect choice to shoot a campaign of this magnitude. Her unmistakable, signature style, with its truly dramatic aesthetic was exactly what we needed to communicate the essence of the campaign and of the new M&S. Annie’s photography has become synonymous with defining key moments in the history of brands over the years and, as such, we feel that this campaign is the ideal way to illustrate M&S’ move into a new era.'

The campaign and the collection will be launched officially on September 3.
