The shape of the face is a key factor to consider when cutting hair, putting on makeup and even wearing hats. Hats for short hair will have a better effect if certain rules are applied. There are several schools of thought telling tell us how to wear fashionable hats for short hair, but most rules are simple.
1. The first thing to remember when choosing a hat for short hair is that it should not be too big that it covers your entire head, leaving no room for a bit of hair to display. Therefore, avoid large hats because whatever amount of hair you have is swallowed by the head gear. A gorgeous beanie, for example, looks great on short hair showing off a little lock while providing enough coverage.
2. You should also consider the shape of your face when choosing a hat for short hair. If you have a round face, angular hats will work best. Examples of these hats include cloches, newsboy hats, Tam O’Shanter, conductor hat and a bowler’s hat. Fedoras, berets, Panama hats, bowler and bucket hats look great on triangular or square faces. Elongated or long faces will look fantastic on floppy cowboy hats, sun hats or even a cloche.
3. Facial features should also be taken into account when choosing a hat for symmetry. If you have a small nose, wearing a big hat is not the best idea. Hence, consider balancing your features with the right sizes of hats.
4. Once you find the right hat that fits your short hair, make sure that it shows a part of your hair. If you have a fringe, pull the hat slightly back to reveal a part of your locks.
Fortunately, hair types do not really play a role when it comes to selecting hats for short hair. Curly, kinky, straight or wavy hair will look great with a hat. It’s all a matter of finding the right style of hats that will work best for you taking into consideration your facial features and shapes.
