Stella McCartney wowed Paris Fashion Week with a sensational collection for Autumn/Winter 2011. Mixing metallics, polka dots and a sexy hourglass figure, the collection seemed braver and edgier than some of her previous shows, with some fashion insiders commenting it could widen her appeal to a less typical McCartney fanbase.
The show was attended by some top names including, of course, Sir Paul McCartney along with his wife Nancy Shevell. Also to be found in the front row, hiding beneath her sunglasses, was US Vogue editor Anna Wintour and fellow talented-daughter-of-a-famous-dad Liv Tyler. Natalia Vodianova brought along her three children, who all sat in the front row with her – prompting an excitable paparazzi scrum.
Some bah-humbuggers are saying that Stella’s change of direction could alienate her current fanbase but we think it’s a blast of fresh air. We’re particularly taken by the black polka dot evening dress and the metallic gold-soled shoes. See the whole collection on Vogue’s site here.
