Get your freak on – Deacon’s back at LFW!
Giles Deacon’s spring summer show at London Fashion Week was an undisputed hit with the fashion press. The affable northerner has shown in Paris for the last two seasons so it was with open arms and glowing reviews that the British critics welcomed him back to a warehouse in Farringdon, east London.
But according to the Telegraph it was not only the bright, neon-heavy collection which drew widespread media attention, it was also Deacon’s choice of models who included Kelly Brook, Agyness Deyn, Amber Le Bon and, perhaps most remarkable, a pregnant Abbey Clancy. It’s not a mix of women we would typically expect to find sharing airspace, let alone a catwalk.
The message seemed to be that Giles can be worn by any woman – from Agyness Deyn's waif-like frame to 50s siren Kelly Brook and the currently even curvier Clancy. The models all looked great, wearing heavy glitter eye make up in pink and green proving once and for all that when it comes to full-on party style, Giles is the only man for the job.
