Galliano for Topshop?
While Dior's executive has definitively ruled out the prospect of Galliano returning to the label, rumours now swirl around the possibility of the iconic but troubled designer working with Topshop. If Galliano were to be given a job by Philip Green, it would be a hugely important step towards rehabilitation. The line would probably be a diffusion brand, with Galliano's name on the clothes.
Fashion bible Vogue speculated that, '...If Green secures Galliano's signature, the deal would be the biggest fashion collaboration ever, overshadowing H&M's famously successful link-ups with Lanvin, Lagerfeld and McCartney - and even Topshop's partnerships with Christopher Kane and Moss herself.'
However, Philip Green told the press that while he had chatted to Galliano at Kate's wedding, no deals were struck over the canapes, 'I saw John Galliano at Kate's wedding last Friday. I did not discuss any business with him then, nor have I since.'
