Fashion First for Posh

Victoria Beckham’s label has been nominated for a prestigious Fashion First at the 2010 British Fashion Awards, the Telegraph has announced. Posh’s collection is up for the Designer Brand award, alongside Burberry, Mulberry and Pringle.

There was a fair bit of skepticism when Victoria launched her label two years ago, with many fashionistas asking what a celebrity could possibly know about fashion? Well, when that celebrity is one of the world’s best-dressed women, the answer would appear to be: ‘quite a lot’. The nomination proves that Posh is now taken very seriously in fashion circles. Her fourth collection, presented at New York Fashion Week in February, was a huge hit and her list of celebrity clientele now includes pretty much every A-lister since the birth of time: Drew Barrymore, Madonna, Jennifer Hudson, Mary J. Blige, Demi Moore, Nicole Scherzinger, Blake Lively, Jennifer Lopez, Gwyneth Paltrow, Heidi Klum, Cameron Diaz, Brooke Shields, and Leighton Meester have all worn her clothes.

The Victoria Beckham collection was estimated to be worth $7.5million in sales last year, and she has hinted at plans to open a shop within the next few years. It looks like Brand Beckham ain’t going nowhere.
