Espadrilles with chunky heels - a must have for Summer 2013
Comfortable and fun, the iconic and legendary espadrilles - originated in the Pyrenees - with their colorful cotton canvas and hand woven rope soles are as trendy as ever. Most definitely the ultimate shoe must-have this summer, especially in their plateaus and chunky heels versions.
Grace Kelly wore espadrilles with Capri pants, Brigitte Bardot wore them at Saint-Tropez and made them famous again, luxury fashion houses like Yves Saint Laurent, Bottega Veneta, Missoni all have them in their current collections.
Valentino has espadrilles in pretty pink patent leather as part of the Resort collection and also a flat model in high quality lace, while Chanel has a canvas colored ones with contrasting toe colors and the classic double C logo on top in their 2013 Cruise collection.
French footwear designer, Christian Louboutin, not only has the classical flat models dubbed Galia with his crown crest and his monogramed initials, but also the stunningly high Praia wedges.
Today as yesterday, original Espadrilles are still hand made from natural materials so they are also eco-friendly.
The ones that were are looking at today are peep toes models with high chunky heels and platform soles, and they are from Espadrilles 2013 Summer campaign that is simply called ‘Summer Forever’.
These espadrilles sandals may be high, but they are very light and comfortable thanks to the plateau and you can find closed toe models with the classical striped patterns with ankle straps or single colored sling back models in suede with a striped plateau, but also open toe models in suede or in colored patent leather.
These high heeled Espadrilles can be worn with almost anything, from skinny jeans, to short summer dresses or skirts, and even long day dresses, simply chose the model that suits your mood and style and are natural part of any woman’s summer wardrobe.
