Emma Watson teams up with Ferretti
Emma Watson has announced plans to work with designer Alberta Ferretti on a new ethical clothing line for the Italian brand.
Watson has long been a spokesperson for ethical fashion, teaming up with People Tree earlier this year. She explained how the Ferretti collaboration came about, to US Weekly: ‘We are doing an organic clothing range. I can't reveal the name yet but there will be more information about it soon... Ferretti wrote to me and said, ‘I saw what you did with People Tree and I think it's a great idea and will you do something with me?'
Watson, who is currently studying in the US, clearly has grand ambitions for life after Harry Potter. She has modelled for Burberry and firmly established herself as a fashion icon who is not afraid to talk about the big issues. She concluded her interview with an open call to other labels looking to up their ethical credentials: ‘I will put it out there that I will work for anyone for free if they are prepared to make their clothing fair trade organic.’
