Dsquared2 launches childrenswear collection at Pitti Bimbo
Italian fashion label Dsquared² has debuted its first junior line at the 77th edition of Pitti Bimbo (trade fair for childrenswear) that took place in Florence, Italy this past week.
The 2014 Spring and Summer junior line collection- for children from 0 to 14- which will be available in department stores worldwide and speciality stores, as well on the Dsquared² online store starting from January 2014.
The brand signed a five-year licensing deal with Brave Kid, that belongs to Renzo Rosso’s Only the Brave group, and is also responsible for the production of childrenswear lines for John Galliano and Diesel and has also partnered with Italian designer Andrea Montelpare for a junior footwear line.
Since it was a world debut for creative directors Dean and Dan Caten’s childrenwear label, they also organized a double event at Pitti Bimbo, both inside and outside the fair.
Besides inside the Fortezza da Basso where their stand was located for the official launch, Dsquared2 also also organized a picnic lunch at the Corsini Gardens in Via della Scala to see the child models playing while wearing Dsquared2’s new collection.
The 2014 Spring and Summer collections sees a number of practical models for both boys and girls, with the boy’s line giving a nod to the ranger scouts with worn down denims, soft lumberjack plaids, hoodies and cropped cargo pants and denims, but also Dsquared² signature and classic biker jacket for the little ones.
The girls will get satin party dresses with yards of tulle, and also lace-edged denim hot pants, mini tote bags in luxurious leather and jackets with quilted leather detailing and embellished with charms.
The shoe line has rain boots, laced up ankle boots, sneakers and pointed patent classic laced up shoes for the boys, while the girls will have flats and jewelry embellished shoes inspired by those of their mothers.
