Dolce & Gabbana inaugurates new menswear store in London
Dolce & Gabbana inaugurated the opening of their new boutique on June 15th, its fourth store in London, at 53-55 New Bond Street, an event that was co-hosted by GQ's editor Dylan Jones.
The store's inaugural event took place on the eve of third official London Collections Men’s calendarand where the Spring and Summer 2014 Dolce & Gabbana Tailoring Collection for men was also presented.
This new store is part of D&G’s recent retail development strategy that comprises the creation of a series of special concept stores to celebrate the unique identities and traditions of the cities in which they are situated, and this fourth London shop is dedicated solely to menswear.
The completely refurbished three floor store also features a traditional barbershop and a corner that is dedicated to made-to-measure Dolce & Gabbana suits and blazers.
The grand opening was marked by an open air fashion show where 44 British models from the Select Model agency showcased the brands Spring and Summer 2014 collection and then walked from the historic Claridge Hotel to the boutique on New Bond Street for the party.
The theme of the 2014 Tailoring collection is inspired by Italian sartorial tradition meeting the English one, paying tribute to timeless style, and “devotion to tailoring, devotion to cut, devotion to fabrics and devotion to details”.
“London has always been one of our favorite cities, it's no surprise we choose to open a new store here. Sense of style has always been part of the English culture and DNA as much as it's part of the Italian ones," said Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana in a statement.
Some of the celebrities attending the exclusive opening event were: Kylie Minogue, Antony Ogogo, Olvia Grant, David Gandy, David Furnish, Jeremy Irvine, Thom Evans, Sascha Bailey and John Doe Fenton Bailey.
