All eyes on the red carpet at the BAFTA Awards 2014 in London for the arrival of the international and home celebrities of the nominated films. Incredible looks and amazing gowns as usual, with occasional fashion faux pas of new and old faces. So let's take a good look at what was going on last weekend in London, look at the red carpet pics and judge for yourself!
Amongst the best dressed, quite unsurprisingly by know as we know how excitingly stylish she is, feature Lupita Nyong'o. We love this African beauty and her effortless coolness, she truly stands out like the noblest of queens, and did not fail to awe an highlight her gorgeousness in a jade green Dior Couture and matching Louboutins.
Talking about effortless cool and queens, once again Cate Blanchett looked simply like perfection herself in a sleek black Alexander McQueen gown with silver floral detail. We are used to her sophisticated elegance, but this time we are really blown away by the match made in heaven of her natural bodily curves and her wrapping gown design.
Be reassured, there was a lot of London look with that bit of irony it requires, and Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt pulled it off extremely well with a simply lovely matching outfits: perfect Saint Laurent tuxedos, with Angelina wearing her suggestively unbottoned. Top notch.
On the other hand, we have to say it, we have seen some outfits that didn't quite seem too perfect in our eyes – de gustibus, for sure, but we can't help thinking that both Helen McCrory and Fearne Cotton could have chosen something a little less OTT and unflattering for the BAFTA red carpet in London.
British actress Helen McCrory, in fact, opted for a eighties inspired, lace embellished black ensemble and teased hairstyle that in fact made her look like Joan Collins out of Dynasty. Not very flattering indeed. Also, and quite surprisingly, Fearne Cotton opted for a patterned golden gown with long sleeves and large skirt, too golden and decisively unflattering. But we are sure she will be back in her stylish form for the next red carpet.
