Avril Lavigne marries Chad Kroeger wearing a black wedding gown
Most women choose white wedding gowns, but not singer Avril Lavigne, who decided that black was much more chic, original and goth for her nuptials to Nickelback’s frontman, Chad Kroeger.
For her second marriage - she was previously married to Sum 41′s Deryck Whibley from 2006 to 2009 – she picked out a stunning Monque Lhuillier creation.
The black lace and tulle wedding dress featured a sweetheart neckline, and a diamond headband was perched on her long and wavy blonde hair, and for the ceremony she covered her locks with a delicate black veil that fell below her shoulders and carried a bouquet of black roses.
For her special day Lavigne kept her signature eye makeup, dark smokey eyes, barely glossed lips and she wore red nail polish.
New hubby Kroeger – his first marriage - decided to match his bride and wore an all-black suit.
The two were married in the south of France at the Chateau de Napoule, a medieval castle near Cannes on July 1st.
The couple chose that particular day because it was Canada Day (they are both Canadians) and it marked exactly one year since the couple began dating, after meeting while working on her fifth studio album, “Here’s to Never Growing Up.”
The wedding ceremony preceded a three-day celebration always in France, which Lavigne told Hello! she wanted to be like a "crazy vacation" for her guests.
The bridegroom said : “When you’ve got that ring on your finger that you get to look at every single day, and you get to call that other person husband or wife it’s a really special feeling.”
While the new bride said, “We hope to be together forever. One day down the road we’ll have this family. I look forward to growing with Chad.”
For their honeymoon the newly married couple left France and have decided to relax in romantic Italy.
