Airbrush out that Baby Phat
The recession continues to take its toll on every business and area of commerce, but one particular US fashion label has found a unique way of losing both a contrived, over-airbrushed image and an employee who demanded massive wages: it fired its founder.
Kimora Lee Simmons, responsible for setting up the hip-hop funky clothes company, was apparently helping herself to extortionate rates for appearing in photoshoots, and was even paying her children large sums of money to appear in ads as well, Grazia Online reports.
A source from the company also revealed that 'it [cost] thousands of dollars to airbrush [Kimora] because she's a [US] size 10. Plus, they spent a ton of money on body doubles. They would shoot another model in the clothes, and take Kimora's head and put in on her body.'
Well, we can certainly say she had balls for making a mint the way she did...but maybe those were airbrushed out of the photos too?
