It must be tough being a musician these days. You spend years toiling away, rehearsing in your parents’ garage, living on baked beans and lager, and then you hit the big-time – your songs are everywhere, you’re heralded as the future of ‘the sort of indie pop mums and their 9 year-olds like’. Then suddenly – ka boom! You’re pushed aside by the next breed of skinny-jeaned bequiffed Morrissey look-a-likes.
Well that may be true for some, but not for Maroon 5 front man Adam Levine, who has another string to his bow according to the Daily Mail. The ‘This Love’ singer is about to launch his own fashion line, called 222 (named after the studio where Maroon 5 recorded their first demo). The label is a family affair, with dad (and long-time boutique store owner) Fred Levine and Fred's cousin Sam Cooper on board as business partners.
Apparently the clothes will reflect Levine’s own casual style and cater to both men and women. Items include jeans, T-shirts and leather jackets with prices ranging from $30 to $1,250. The line launches in Las Vegas later this week but Levine will not be present as he is currently on tour with the band (yes, they are still going).
