2013 Spring Summer sees the return of 70's inspired fashion
The 70's are back in style and the most important fashion designers are clearly picking up inspiration from that free-spirited decade, along with a tad of hippie culture and flower power from the 60’s that brought about the creation of the fashion revolution that we all know today.
This 2013 Spring/Summer will be marked by a decisive return to the 70's fashion. Above the knee dresses embellished with big colored buttons and psychedelic prints, flared pants and the return of the crop top to show off a bare midriff. A-lined dresses and coats, flower appliqués and embroidery, are just some of the must haves, if you want to be part of this season’s Seventies style.
Color shades will range from blue, red and yellow - the traditional primary colors – with the addition of colors like purple, orange and dark green which will make it hard not to be captivated from the back to the past style.
Among the leaders of the 70s style will be the return to over the shoe, bell bottom pants, either in washed denim with strategic rips at the knee to be paired with a boho blouse or high wasted loose flared trousers for a more put together look with a bow blouse or classical jumpsuits for both day and evening wear.
Hot pants have been revisited and are now slightly longer and less tight, reaching mid-thigh and in denim, to be worn with T-shirts and earth colored tank tops with ethnic designs to be worn with bracelets and necklaces from faraway places.
As for accessories, vintage goes a long way, and maybe found at the back of your mom’s or aunt’s closets, dark brown oversized leather shoulder handbags, whipstitch and fringe vests and fabulous cowboy boots.
To take the look a little further, braids are back or how about colored headbands or floppy hats with the addition of aviator style Top Gun sunglasses, that continue to be an evergreen, which fully reflects the spirit of those fabulous Seventies.
